Man taken to hospital after crash involving lorry on the A17 near Lincolnshire village

The road was closed for several hours after a collision involving a car and HGV but has since reopened

A man has been taken to hospital[1] following a crash involving a lorry on the A17 in Lincolnshire.

Lincolnshire Police[2] were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision at the Middle Marsh Road junction near Fosdyke Bridge[3], close to Holbeach, shortly before 11.30pm on Tuesday, April 14.

The collision involved a blue VW polo and a DAF heavy goods vehicle.

One man was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries are not believed to be life changing.

The road was closed in both directions for several hours overnight but it has since reopened and traffic is passing as normal in the area.

A previous update from the force at the time read: "We are currently at the scene of a two-vehicle collision involving a HGV and a car on the A17, near Fosdyke.

"The incident has taken place near the junction at Middle Marsh Road.

"The road is closed in both directions.

We will provide a further update when we can."
