Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital following A1245 crash

Emergency services were called to the scene of a crash involving a van and a motorcycle on the A1245 Chelmsford Road near Rawreth this afternoon. Upon arriving at the scene, paramedics attended to a motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, who had suffered "potentially serious injuries," according to Essex Police. It has now been revealed that he was airlifted to hospital following the incident[1].

A spokesperson for East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) said: "One ambulance, a paramedic car and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to Chelmsford Road (A1245) Rawreth, this afternoon following reports of a motorcyclist injured in a road traffic collision. "One patient was flown to the Royal London Hospital with serious injuries." The road has remained closed since the incident took place, while emergency services carry out their work.

Drivers are urged to check before they travel, and plan accordingly as traffic has begun to build-up in the surrounding areas.
