Motorcyclist dies after crash on major A-road near Cambridgeshire

A man has died following a crash on a major A-road near the Cambridgeshire[1] border. Emergency services were called to a crash involving a white Ford Transit Connect and yellow BMW K1200 motorcycle on Tuesday (April 7) at around 7am on A10 at South Runcton.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital[2] in Cambridge[3]. He died earlier today (Wednesday, April 8).

The van driver, a man in his 30s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving.

He was taken to Kings Lynn[4] Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

He's since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A police spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a collision on the A10 at South Runcton.

"The incident happened at around 7am on Tuesday, April 7 and involved a white Ford transit Connect travelling southbound towards Downham Market and a yellow BMW K1200 motorcycle heading northbound."

Anyone with information should call police on 101 and quote incident 55 of April 7.
