Two people hospitalised following crash on A39 near A361

Avon and Somerset Police were called to a multi-vehicle crash on the A39 at Ashcott, Somerset, near the junction for the A361, at around 2.45pm today (Wednesday, April 29). Police confirmed that two people have been taken to hospital for treatment for injuries 'not believed to be serious.' The road was closed while emergency services responded to the incident and reopened around 4.25pm.
Police said that drivers should expect a period of traffic congestion in the area following the incident. A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called to a collision involving a lorry and two cars on the A39 at Ashcott, near to the junction for the A361, at around 2.45pm today (Wednesday 29 April). "Two people have been taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which are not believed to be serious.
"The road was closed while emergency services responded to the incident and reopened around 4.25pm.
