Van driver ‘seriously injured’ after crash with lorry on Herts M1

The driver, a man in his 20s, has been taken to hospital following the smash, which took place on the northbound M1 Junction 6a slip road, heading towards the M25 near Bricket Wood. The vehicles involved were a Renault lorry and a Mercedes sprinter van.

Update: Herts Police have appealed for information Sergeant Dan Cook said: "Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and I am appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch. "Additionally, if you have a dash cam fitted then please check it in case you recorded any crucial footage."

Shortly after 6am, Herts Police took to social media to warn motorists to "avoid the area" following the smash.

Motorists faced delays of ten minutes and around a mile of congestion on the southbound approach, according to National Highways.
