A woman who was a passenger in a car involved in a serious crash in East Yorkshire has sadly died. The 84 year old tragically died at the scene of the incident on the A166 Roman Road, near Stamford Bridge, on Wednesday (April 22).

The driver of the Ford Fiesta she was travelling in, an 81-year-old man, was also seriously injured, police have said. It is reported that, at around 2.30pm, "for reasons that are still unknown", their car went onto the opposite side of the road and collided with a white Mercedes van near the junction with Dolegate.

The road was closed for a time while emergency services attended the incident.

A Humberside Police[1] spokesperson said: "Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances around the collision, and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to please contact 101 quoting log 280 of 22 April."
