Woman injured in crash involving VW Golf and lorry on A19 near Crathorne

A woman has been taken to hospital with a head injury after a collision on the A19[1] near Crathorne. Emergency services were called to the A19 northbound following a crash involving a lorry and a VW Golf.

It is understood the carriageway was closed for around seven hours as police officers, paramedics and firefighters dealt with the incident on Friday, April 24. Cleveland Police[2] has confirmed that a 24-year-old woman was taken to James Cook University Hospital[3]. Advertisement

A spokesperson for the force said: "The woman was travelling northbound on the A19, in a blue VW Golf, when she was involved in the collision with a white lorry just after the Crathorne turnoff.

"Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage are asked to call 101 quoting reference SE26077144."
