A47 in Cambridgeshire closed after three-vehicle crash

Emergency services were called to a crash on the A47 at South Brink in Wisbech just after 7am today (Thursday, May 21).

The crash involved a lorry and two cars[1].

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 7.09am today with reports of a three-vehicle crash involving two cars and a lorry on the A47 at South Brink.

Officers, firefighters and paramedics are at the scene and the road is currently closed between Wisbech and Guyhirn Rings, with motorists urged to avoid the area."

Officers have warned drivers that the road is expected to remain closed for "most of the day".

As of 9am, traffic monitoring site Inrix reports the road remains blocked in both directions.

It said: "A47 in both directions blocked, queueing traffic due to accident from A141 March Road (Guyhirn Roundabout, Guyhirn) to B198 Cromwell Road (Wisbech)."
