A trucker suffered 'potentially serious injuries' after a lorry flipped on the A500. Police, paramedics and recovery specialists were sent to the roundabout in Hanchurch where a wagon was on its side.
Staffordshire Police had previously said the driver of the lorry did not require hospital treatment following yesterday afternoon's smash. But West Midlands Ambulance Service has since confirmed the trucker was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
The collision occurred at around 1.35pm yesterday - blocking Newcastle Road's entry onto the A500 roundabout.
A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: "One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
Upon arrival we found a man who was the driver of the lorry.
He was assessed and had sustained potentially serious injuries.
He was conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further assessment."
