BMW driver killed in crash with two vans near Okehampton

A man has died and another has suffered serious injuries after a multi-vehicle crash near Okehampton[1] yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, May 19).

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A386 between Hatherleigh and Folly Gate around 1.50pm.

A silver-coloured BMW estate, a white Ford[2] Transit van and a white Citroen Relay Luton van were involved in the crash, police said.

The driver of the BMW, a 33-year-old from the Okehampton area, died at the scene.

A 74-year-old man from Bude suffered serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

The driver of the Citroen was uninjured, police added.

DevonLive reported[3] the road was closed for around 11 hours as an investigation of the scene was carried out.

Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam footage, to contact the force.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "A man has died and another driver has been seriously injured in a three-vehicle collision on the A386 near Okehampton.
