Cyclist flown to hospital after being hit by a lorry

A cyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a lorry in Redruth[1] yesterday (Thursday, May 28).

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A3047 after a crash between a Heavy Goods Lorry and a pedal cyclist around 11.35am.

The cyclist was hit at the junction with Cardrew Way and the A3047 and suffered serious injuries, police said. Advertisement Advertisement

The busy A-road remained closed for a number of hours as an investigation was carried out.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has dashcam footage to come forward.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police[2] said: "Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road traffic collision on the A3047, Redruth.

"Anyone with any relevant dash-cam footage or information which they believe may assist the investigation are asked to contact Devon and Cornwall police via our website, or by calling 101 quoting log number 320 27/05/26 or occurrence 50260134255".
