M1 traffic: Northbound motorway open again after crash

The motorway was blocked after a crash near junction 4 and 5 this morning, with reports received as early as 8.05am. Some of the motorists caught in the traffic reported being stuck for an hour and a quarter. The crash involved a lorry and five cars, with the lorry driver having been taken to hospital.
Hertfordshire Police confirmed that the road had reopened at 10.05am, after which traffic started moving at the front. National Highways: East said: "The M1 northbound between J1 (Brent Cross) and J5 (Watford) has reopened following a multi vehicle collision. "Traffic that was stuck within the closure has been released.
"There are delays of 10 minutes and 1 mile of congestion on the approach."
While the road is no open, a lane has been closed further back on the northbound M1 motorway, due to a separate vehicle breakdown.
