M6 crash live as drivers warned of 40-minute delays

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 8.35am to a road traffic collision involving a car and a van on the M6 between junctions 10 and 9 in Pleck.
"Three ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
Upon arrival we found four patients.
"Firstly, a child who was a passenger in the car who was assessed and had sustained serious injuries.
"He received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene before being conveyed to Birmingham Children's Hospital for further assessment.
"Secondly and thirdly was a woman, who was the driver, and a woman who was a passenger in the car.
"Both had sustained injuries not believed to be serious.
"They received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital.
"Fourth was a man who was the driver of a van.
He was assessed and was in a potentially serious condition.
"He was conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital for further assessment."
