M6 drivers told ‘avoid area’ as motorway closed both ways after lorry overturns
Police urged motorists to avoid the area as they warned route will be 'closed for some time'

A busy Midland motorway has been closed both ways after a lorry overturned in a collision.
Police warned the M6 will be shut in both directions for 'some time' shortly after 5pm on Sunday, May 31.
The closure is in place between J1 Rugby and the M1/A14 junction after a HGV lorry crashed into the central reservation.
Emergency services were on scene this evening. Motorists, who have been warned to avoid the area, are facing delays of 40 minutes on the approach.
National Highways West Midlands said: "The M6 in Warwickshire[2] is closed in both directions between J1 #Rugby[3] and the M1/A14 junction due to collision involving a HGV.
"Emergency services are on scene dealing. There are currently delays of 40 minutes on the approach."
Warwickshire[4] Police added: "The M6 near junction 1 is likely to be closed in both directions for some time after a lorry went into the central reservation and overturned.
