Man killed in collision with lorry on M2 between Junction 3 for Maidstone and Junction 4 for Gillingham
A man has died following a serious crash between a pedestrian and a lorry on the M2. The incident happened on the coast-bound carriageway, between Junction 3 for Blue Bell Hill and Junction 4 for Gillingham, at around 2pm yesterday[1] (May 14).

Police, paramedics and crews from the air ambulance attended, where the pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was confirmed to have died. His next of kin have been informed, and a report will be completed for the coroner.
The death is not being treated as suspicious. At the time, National Highways described the crash as "serious" and a section of the motorway was shut.

A statement on its website added: "Police are leading the response and will be carrying out a full investigation, meaning the road will remain closed throughout the afternoon and into the evening." The road was shut for around four hours while the emergency services were at the scene, and reopened at around 6.40pm.
Trapped traffic between the two junctions was turned around from the back of the queue by traffic officers.
