Man who died in A14 crash near Nacton named by police

The incident happened just after 9am on Monday, April 27 on the westbound carriageway near Nacton and involved a lorry and a silver Ford S-Max. Mr Warner, who was driving the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers were taken to hospital but did not suffer serious injuries.
A spokesman for Suffolk Police said: "Subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, the deceased has been identified as Tony Warner, aged 67, of Ilketshall St Lawrence. "Mr Warner's family have asked us to pass on their thanks and gratitude to all the emergency services personnel who attended the incident, and also the members of the public who assisted at the scene."
A 50-year-old man from Newmarket was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He was questioned at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre and later released on bail until Monday, July 13 while inquiries continue. The westbound carriageway of the A14 was closed between Junction 58 at Seven Hills[1] and Junction 56 at Wherstead, reopening at around 2am the following day.
The eastbound side was also closed between the off-slip and on-slip at Junction 57 for Ransomes Europark, but reopened by 7pm on Monday evening.[2] Officers are appealing for witnesses and are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident. Those with information are urged to contact the Joint Norfolk & Suffolk Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference 37/23817/26.
