Two drivers rushed to hospital after Lanarkshire M80 crash as cops launch probe

Two people were rushed to hospital after a crash on a busy motorway outside Glasgow[1] on Friday evening (May 22). Officers are appealing for information following the collision, which took place at around 8pm on the M80 northbound near to junction three at Stepps.
The crash involved a grey Ford Transit van and a silver Volkswagen EOS car. A black Vauxhall Insignia is also believed to have been in the area around the time of the crash[2].

The driver of the Transit van, a 36-year-old man, and the driver of the EOS, a 24-year-old man, were taken to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
The northbound carriageway was closed following the crash[3] and reopened around 10.45pm.
Police are now urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
Constable Gordon McCreadie said: "Our enquiries into the circumstances surrounding this crash are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened, or saw the vehicles involved prior to the incident, to get in touch. Advertisement Advertisement

"I would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage from the area around the time of the crash to contact us as it may assist our investigation."
