Two people rushed to hospital following crash on the A52 between Bingham and Radcliffe

A man has been left in a life-threatening condition following a serious collision between a van and car this morning. Earlier today, the A52 between the A6011 Gamston and the A46 Saxondale was shut in both directions following the crash. The East Midlands Ambulance Service says it received a call at 5am and dispatched a paramedic in a solo response car and two ambulances.

The air ambulance was also in attendance, and two patients were rushed to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: "We can now confirm that a 30-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries currently believed to be life-threatening. "A 67-year-old man has also suffered serious injuries. The road remains closed."

The road will remain closed as recovery takes place and a "large spillage" caused by the collision will is cleared

Drivers are advised to exercise patience in case of delays. Diversion routes have been put in place by National Highways.[1]
