Two people taken to hospital following four-vehicle crash on major A-road

Two people were taken to hospital following a crash involving four vehicles on a major A-road in Cambridgeshire. Cambridgeshire Police were called to the westbound carriageway of the A14 at Horningsea at around 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday, April 30).

The crash involved three cars and a van. Fire crews from Cambridge[1] also attended to the scene.

Using specialist equipment, firefighters worked to release one person from one of the vehicles. Two people were taken to hospital after suffering injuries that are believed not to be life-changing or life-threatening.

Everyone else involved in the crash suffered minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment. No one was arrested.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: "We were called at about 5.30pm yesterday (30 April) to the westbound carriageway of the A14[2] at Horningsea after reports of a collision between three cars and a van.

"Two people were taken to hospital suffering from injuries not through to be life-changing or life-threatening and everyone else had minor injuries not requiring hospital treatment.

There were no arrests."

A Cambridgeshire[3] Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "At 5.41pm on Thursday (30) crews from Cambridge were called to a road traffic collision on the A14 Eastbound between Fen Ditton and Quy.

"Firefighters arrived to find a collision involving four vehicles. Using specialist equipment, they released a casualty from one of the vehicles and left them in the care of the ambulance service. Crews returned to their station by 6.38pm."
