Young man suffers serious injuries in crash which closed A1 near Grantham for around 12 hours

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a collision[1] closed a main road for around 12 hours.
The two-vehicle collision took place on the A1 at Grantham[2] shortly before 3pm on Wednesday, May 13.
The incident involved a grey Renault Master van and a Volvo HGV.
The driver of the Renault was taken to hospital, with his injuries described as serious.
The northbound lanes were closed at the time of the collision and the southbound lanes were also closed to assist with medical treatment and the investigation.
Article continues belowLincolnshire Police[3] confirmed that the scene was cleared shortly before 1am, and the road fully reopened northbound shortly before 3am.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any dashcam footage to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit by emailing [email protected].
