A419 Fatal crash on key Swindon to Oxfordshire route

A woman in her 30s, who was driving her broken down Toyota Aygo on the A419 near Swindon, died after a Vauxhall Vivaro hit her car. Emergency services were called to scene on the northbound carriageway near the White Hart roundabout at about 8.30am on Friday (June 5). The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed, Wiltshire Police said. The van driver is believed to have no serious injuries and no arrests have been made. The stretch of road is a key route linking Swindon and the M4 to roads into Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds.

Witnesses should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team, quoting the log 61 for Friday, June 5.
