Delays on the A53 through Endon

Police and paramedics were called to a crash between a lorry and a car on the busy A53 this morning. The smash in Endon sparked rush-hour delays in both directions.

Now paramedics say one patient was checked over and discharged at the scene. The collision occurred at the junction of Leek Road and Basnetts Wood at around 7.45am.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Leek Road and Basnetts Wood and sent an ambulance to the scene.

On arrival, crews found one patient who was assessed and discharged at the scene."

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We were called to Leek Road following reports of a collision involving a car and a lorry.

No one was injured."
