All we know abouts serious crash on A56, Haslingden

The incident has resulted in the closure of the A56 between Rising Bridge and Haslingden, in both directions. Emergency services, including police, fire, ambulance, and an air ambulance, are at the scene. Police say the crash involved a HGV and two cars.
They say any injuries reported are thought to be minor. National Highways reported delays of 30 minutes and three miles of congestion leading up to the closed section. Police anticipate the road will be closed "for some time".
Malyssa Payne, who shared a photo from the scene, said: "This is the current scene on the A56 following the crash. Traffic around the area is currently really bad." A police spokesperson said: "We want to update you and let you know that the A56 Northbound is currently closed from the junction with the Grane Road to the McDonald's roundabout due to a road traffic collision.
"We anticipate that the road will be closed for some time, whilst we assess the situation. "In the meantime, we'd recommend looking for an alternative route and driving carefully, leaving plenty of extra time to get to your destination. We'll keep tabs on what's happening and we'll update you here once the road is open.

A spokesperson for AA Traffic and Travel said: "All traffic being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to accident on A56 both ways between A680 Manchester Road, Haslingden, and A680 Blackburn[1] Road, Rising Bridge." A spokesperson for National Highways said: "The A56 is closed in both directions between Rising Bridge and Haslingden due to a serious collision.
"Police, fire and ambulance, including air ambulance are attending. Current delays of 30 minutes and three miles of congestion on the approach." In an update police said: "We received a report of a collision on the A56 near to the junction with Grane Road shortly before 2:30pm between a HGV and two cars.
"Thankfully, the injuries are reported to be minor.
"The road remains closed whilst vehicle recovery is ongoing.
"Anyone with information or footage is asked to call 101 quoting log 0831 of 5th June."
