Delay warning as tanker fire shuts M1 motorway

The M1 was shut northbound due to a lorry fire in Nottinghamshire on Tuesday.

A tanker caught alight on the motorway between Junction 26 at Nuthall, Nottinghamshire, and Junction 28 at Pinxton, Derbyshire, said National Highways.

Emergency services were called to the scene.

All lanes northbound were closed, with two lanes reopening at about 17:45 BST.

National Highways said: "Expect delays on the approach."
