Family ‘heartbroken’ after biker dad dies in crash

The family of a biker who died in a crash in Fife say they are "absolutely heartbroken" and struggling to come to terms with their loss. Scott Brough was killed in a collision involving a van on the A911 road, near the junction with the B9130 for Markinch on Friday, May 22, around 1pm. Emergency services attended the crash and the 47-year-old died at the scene.

His family paid tribute to him on Tuesday. "We are absolutely heartbroken at the loss of Scott," they said. "He meant the world to us and his children, and we are struggling to come to terms with this devastating tragedy.

"Scott loved riding his motorbike. It was something he was truly passionate about and brought him so much happiness. "We would like to express our sincere thanks to the police officers who have supported us through this incredibly difficult time.

"Their kindness, compassion and professionalism have been a great source of comfort, and we are deeply grateful for everything they have done. "We have been overwhelmed by the messages of support and condolences we have received, and we thank everyone for their kindness. "As a family, we have always been very private people and would like to remain that way.

"We respectfully ask that our privacy is respected as we grieve, support one another, and remember Scott." Police say enquiries are ongoing and are appealing for anyone who has information about the crash to come forward. Sergeant Chris Anderson, of Police Scotland's Road Policing Unit, added: "Our thoughts remain with Scott's family and friends during this upsetting time."
