A cordon has been put in place near the busy road junction, close to Medway Police Station. The response has since been scaled down to one police car and one van which remain behind the taped off area.

The public walkway which was previously blocked outside the school is now open and traffic is able to pass. It is not yet known what the nature of the incident is. Speaking from the scene at around 6.20pm, KMTV reporter Nailah Mahomed said: "When I spoke to the policewoman, she said that she is still awaiting confirmation of what is going on.
