M4 caravan crash sparks major delays near Bristol

Drivers were warned of delays on the M4 after a caravan crash near Bristol today (Thursday, June 25).

Two lanes of the motorway were closed eastbound between junctions 18 and 19, with around 30 minutes of delays.

Traffic maps showed long tailbacks of traffic in all lanes of the motorway.

National Highways said: "There are delays of 30 minutes on the #M4 eastbound near #Bristol between J19 #M32 and J18 #DodingtonAsh following an earlier collision involving a caravan.

"Two lanes are closed for debris clear up and vehicle recovery. Please allow extra time for your journey."

Roads and traffic monitoring site, Inrix, said: "Two lanes closed and slow traffic due to earlier accident, caravan involved and debris on road on M4 Eastbound from J19 M32 (Bristol) to J18 A46 (Bath / Tormarton)."

All lanes were clear by 1.30pm.
