M6 live updates after car and lorry crash

A lorry and a car have collided on the M6.

One lane has been closed following the collision on the northbound carriageway.

The crash was first reported at 5.49am this morning.

Traffic monitoring system Inrix states: "There is traffic congestion and one lane closed due to an accident involving a car and a lorry on the M6 northbound from junction 16 for Stoke-on-Trent North and junction 17 for Sandbach."

It comes as a broken-down vehicle has also closed one lane of the northbound M6 from junction 18 for Holmes Chapel and junction 19 for Knutsford this morning.

The Sentinel has approached Staffordshire Police for a statement following the collision.
