Man, 21, charged after pedestrian struck by car

A 21-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving and causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a car was allegedly repeatedly driven at a pedestrian.

A man in his 30s was seriously injured after being struck by a black Audi A3 which came off the road in Alnwick, Northumberland, at about 18:40 BST on Friday, Northumbria Police said.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with leg injuries.

Keowen Eaton, of Amble has been remanded in custody and will appear at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court on Monday.
