Man charged and named after A46 police chase leads to serious collision
A driver was injured and remains in hospital in a stable condition

A man has been charged after a police chase led to a serious collision on the A46[1] in Leicestershire.
The A46 westbound between Groby and Anstey was closed for 12 hours[2] following an incident at 4.40am on Monday, June 29.
Leicestershire Police[3] spotted a white Mercedes van at 4.10am, which had been reported stolen.
Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver got away before it was spotted again on the M1 and the pursuit started again.
The van left the M1 at junction 21a and went eastbound along the westbound lanes on the A46.
While travelling the wrong way, the van crashed into a BMW 1 Series.
The driver of the car was badly hurt[4] and taken to hospital.
Police[5] have said that the BMW driver remains in hospital in a stable condition.

- Using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third-party insurance
Rogacs is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court[6] today (Tuesday, June 30).
Following the collision, the Leicestershire Police's Professional Standards Department was informed, and the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
