A man has tragically died following a crash involving a lorry and a car in the Midlands, police have confirmed.

The incident took place on the A4137 in Herefordshire yesterday evening (Tuesday, June 9).

A Scania lorry collided with a Mitsubishi L200 between St Owens Cross and Marstow at around 6.30pm.

Medics were called to the scene and despite their best efforts, the driver of the Mitsubishi was pronounced dead a short time later.

West Mercia Police has confirmed that the man was in his 60s.

Officers are now appealing for information as they investigate the crash.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a collision on the A4137 in Herefordshire yesterday (Tuesday 9 June).

"The collision happened around 6.30pm and involved a Scania lorry and a Mitsubishi L200 between St Owens Cross and Marstow.

"Despite the efforts of emergency services, the driver of the Mitsubishi, a man in his 60s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"Officers are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision, as well as anyone who may have dashcam footage from the time of the incident or the moments leading up to it.
