West Norfolk Council has agreed to sell off two of its caravan sites with plans for the operator to take them over. The authority has been the freehold owner of the Vegas and South Shore parks for some years. However, it has been decided that selling them would provide a better return as opposed to retaining them.

During a recent cabinet meeting, assistant director for property and projects, Liz MacDonald, said that a "very strong offer" has been received, which the council hopes to go ahead with to secure the funds. A QEH boss has stepped down from her position less than six months into the job.

Officials at Lynn's hospital have confirmed that Michelle Arrowsmith will no longer be managing director, with Jo Segasby, group chief delivery officer for the Norfolk and Waveney NHS Trust, set to take over in the interim. Ms Arrowsmith stepped into the role back in January after her predecessor, Chris Bown, left.

A man who was jailed just last year for causing a horror crash which killed a young mother is understood to have had his term reduced. Thomas Peggs has reportedly been out multiple times on day release after he was sentenced to three years and four months in prison last June. His careless driving resulted in 20-year-old Grace Robinson dying from her injuries and leaving Macie Hall, who was 18 at the time, seriously injured.

A "kind-hearted" woman who died in a village crash will be "sadly missed", her family has said in a tribute. Sharon Storey, 61, from Walsoken, was driving a silver MG HS on the A605 at Ring's End, near Peterborough, at around 2.50pm on Saturday, June 13, when it was involved in a collision with a red Hyundai Kona.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other driver, a 41-year-old woman from Whittlesey, has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released on bail. A prolific burglar who stole a charity box and jewellery worth GBP300 has been jailed. Richard Duggan, 43, of Lynn Road in Swaffham, was sentenced to three years and five months in prison at Norwich Crown Court after pleading guilty to burglary and three counts of assault on an emergency worker.

His offences relate to incidents where he smashed a window and door to get into a property on Shoemakers Lane before stealing the jewellery on March 4, 2025.

A marathon cycle ride has so far raised around GBP2,000 for Tapping House hospice.

A group of eight cycling buddies joined Phil Davies and Jonathan Holmes of Lynn's Priory Rotary, and Mike Douglass of Lynn Rotary on an epic 131-mile journey visiting all the hospice's charity shops.

The 'Tour de Tapping' took place on Tuesday, June 16, setting off at 7.45am from the shop at Lynn's St Nicholas Retail Park, then on to the charity shops at Snettisham, Hunstanton, Burnham Market, Wells and Fakenham before a quick lunch stop at the hospice in Hillington.
