There is extremely heavy traffic on multiple roads around Exeter

Drivers face traffic chaos around Exeter during evening rush hour after multiple crashes.

Emergency services are at the scene of a three-vehicle crash involving two cars and a lorry [1] on the A376 at Clyst St Mary.

There are major delays on Sidmouth Road, with traffic affected towards Topsham and the M5 services.

There are also delays on the A3052, the A30 Honiton Road and the M5 around junction 30.

One witness has warned drivers to "avoid" Clyst St Mary and reports that traffic is being diverted from the earlier crash.

Three people have been taken to hospital after the A376 lorry crash [2]. The extent of their injuries is not known at this stage, police said.

Another lorry crash was reported on the A30 near the Alphington junction, which also caused heavy delays before clearing.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars and a lorry on the A376 at Clyst St Mary at around 2.15pm today, Thursday 11 June.

Police, the fire and ambulance services all attended the scene.Three people have been taken to hospital, but the extent of their injuries is not clear.Local road closures have been put in place.The incident is ongoing.
