Tributes as father of three dies in M25 Essex lorry crash

Emergency services were called to the anti-clockwise carriageway near junction 27 at around 4.20 am on Tuesday, June 16, where the crash took place. Despite the efforts of paramedics, Legton Zulu was pronounced dead at the scene. The collision happened while emergency services were already dealing with a separate incident on the same stretch of motorway.

A lorry fire had been reported between junctions 27 and 26 at around 3.08 am. In a tribute, Mr Zulu's family said: "Legton Zulu was a devoted and loving husband, a proud father, a faithful servant of God, and a respected member of his community.

"He leaves behind his beloved wife and their three young sons, aged 9, 6, and 4, who have been deeply affected by his sudden and tragic passing. "Legton sadly lost his life following a collision involving the work lorry he was driving on the M25 in Essex on Tuesday, 16 June 2026. "His passing has left his family, friends, colleagues, and church community heartbroken.

"A professional HGV driver for more than 15 years, Legton was known for his dedication, integrity, and professionalism. "He also faithfully served as a Deacon in Forward in Faith Ministries International (ZAOGA FIFMI), where he was admired for his humility, commitment, and love for God. "Legton was a man who genuinely loved people.

"He was kind, generous, and always willing to help others. "He touched many lives through his friendship, his service, and his passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. "He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, faithful servant of God, and a true friend to many.

"He fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. "His legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him." Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for witnesses.
