Two incidents cause M62 traffic disruption near Chain Bar

One incident near Chair Bar involved a lorry spillage on the motorway, shutting down one eastbound lane. A crash also happened near Junction 26 and 27 eastbound. A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "There were two separate incidents on the M62 in a short space of time.
"Firstly, an road traffic collision at 26/27 eastbound at 7.44am. "Separately a lorry leaking fuel on the hard shoulder at 24/25 eastbound." "Crews attended both these incidents to assist with making the scenes safe."
One traffic alert reported: "There is one lane closed and queueing traffic due to a spillage on M62 eastbound at Junction 25 A644 Wakefield Road (Brighouse)." In a post on its website, a spokesperson for National Highways confirmed it was a load spillage. They said: "There is one of three lanes closed.
"The hard shoulder and lane one are closed. "The event is expected to clear by 11am to 11.15am." One passerby told the T&A: "I've just been past it.
It looks like it's broken down just before the services."
