Woman dies in dual carriageway broken down car and van crash

A woman has died after a crash between a van and a broken down car in Wiltshire. The woman in her 30s was declared deceased at the scene yesterday following the 8.30am collision on the northbound carriageway of the A419 near the White Hart roundabout in Swindon. The A419 dual carriageway, which connects to junction 15 of the M4, had been closed in both directions but the southbound carriageway has since reopened.
Wiltshire Police said the woman's next of kin have been informed. They also said the driver of the van was not seriously injured in the crash and no arrests have been made following the fatal crash. The road has since reopened.
A spokesperson for the force said: "The driver of the Toyota, a woman in her 30s, was sadly declared dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this tragic time. They are being supported by specially trained officers.
"The van driver suffered no reported serious injuries.
No arrests have been made.
