A470 car crash causes major delays in Llandudno

A crash caused major delays in Llandudno today (Tuesday). Police and fire crews were called to the scene on the A470 Conway Road.

Images from the scene appeared to show a car had struck a lamppost with a 30mph sign on it, at around 1.30pm. The vehicle was later recovered, allowing traffic to flow again in the area.

An Inrix traffic monitoring sevrice statement referred to the incident as a "vehicle fire".

It said: "Traffic returned to normal, recovery work completed and earlier vehicle fire on A470 Conway Road Northbound near the B5115."

A spokesperson for North Wales Police[1] said: "We were called at 12.52pm today to report a collision on Conway Road, Llandudno[2], near the Links Hotel.

"The road was closed whilst the car was recovered and was reopened at 1.55pm."
