Delays at Dover port after pedestrian hit by lorry

A pedestrian has been hit by a lorry near a Kent port overnight, leading to congestion in the area as police carried out an investigation.

The incident happened on the A20 in Dover near the junction with Union Street at about 03:40 BST on Thursday.

A contraflow had been put in place following partial road closures on the A20 Snargate Street, with traffic leaving the port being diverted up Jubilee Way on the A2.

Travel site Inrix said at about 11:45 that the contraflow and other restrictions had been lifted.
