Diversions and delays on A40 after bus and van crash

The collision occurred on the A40 between Carmarthen Road and Pentrefelin, on the route between Llandeilo and Nantgaredig, at around 4.25pm on Friday, July 3. A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Dyfed-Powys Police received reports of a serious two vehicle road traffic collision on the A40 Llandeilo to Nantgaredig road at around 4.25pm this afternoon (Friday, July 3rd). "The collision involved a bus and a van. "Officers are at the scene along with Welsh Ambulance Service and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service personnel.

"The road is closed, and motorists are advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes."We will provide an update in due course." The road remains closed in both directions, and motorists are being advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. Traffic is reported to be queuing in the surrounding areas as a result of the closure, and diversions have been put in place.

Drivers are being urged to allow extra time for their journeys.

Police have stated that updates will be provided "in due course" as the situation develops.
