M42 crash leaves woman with ‘potentially serious injuries’
Three cars and a van collide on motorway with woman badly hurt and rushed to hospital

A woman was badly hurt after a four-vehicle crash on the M42 near Sutton Coldfield and Tamworth[1][2]
Cars and a van collided on the southbound carriageway between junctions ten, for Tamworth, and nine, for Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield[3] and Coleshill at around 9pm yesterday, Monday, July 6.
A trailer was said to have been pulled by one of the vehicles and flipped over.
Emergency services were called to the scene with West Midlands Ambulance Service[5] and Warwickshire[6] Police in attendance.
The ambulance service said one woman suffered 'potentially serious injuries' in the crash.
She was a passenger in one of the cars and was rushed on blue lights to Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham[7].

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: "A woman sustained potentially serious injuries following a road traffic collision involving four vehicles on the M42 near Sutton Coldfield last night.
"West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the southbound carriageway of the M42 between junctions 10 and 9 at 9.04pm on Monday.
"Two ambulances and a paramedic officer responded to the scene.
"Crews arrived to find several cars which had been involved in a collision.
"The passenger of one car, a woman, suffered potentially serious injuries and received treatment on scene before being conveyed on blue lights and sirens to Heartlands Hospital for further care.
"Two other people involved in the collision were assessed and discharged on scene."

The M42 was closed southbound for several hours.
A diversion was in place via the A5 and the A453 from Mile Oak to Bassetts Pole and the A446 past The Belfry golf resort to the M42.
The motorway fully reopened on Tuesday morning ahead of rush-hour.
