Pedestrian raced to hospital following early Boxing Day horror smash in sleepy Scots village

A PEDESTRIAN has been rushed to hospital after an early Boxing Day horror smash involving a vehicle.

Emergency services[1] raced to the scene at the A77 in Lochans, near to Stranraer, at around 6.10am this morning[2].

A female pedestrian was taken to hospital[3] but it is not known at this stage what condition she is in.

It is not known if the driver of the vehicle was injured.

The A77 between Stranraer and Portpatrick was closed with local diversions in place for several hours.

Cops[4] asked the public to avoid the area.

Police[5] Scotland[6] spokesperson: “The A77 is closed at Lochans following a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian that happened around 6.10am on Thursday, 26 December.

“Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a woman, was taken to hospital.

“A local diversion is in place and road users are advised to avoid the area.”
