Cops rushed to a “large scale disturbance” in the early hours of this morning in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian.
An 18-year-old man, not involved in the rammy on Dundas Street, was rushed to hospital and later discharged.
The suspect is described as White, early 20s, 6ft, heavy build, wearing a black t-shirt with the word ‘BOSS’ on the front.
Officers have launched a probe and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “It appears that the injured man was just outside the pub at the time and was struck for no reason.
injury.
“We’d ask anyone who saw the assault, who recognises the description of the suspect, or indeed, was driving in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage, to contact police.”
Elsewhere, a motorcyclist tragically died following a collision with a wall in the Highlands.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the A827, around six miles east of Killin, near Lawers, at approximately 4.25pm on Friday, April 11.
The incident involved a black Ducati M1200 motorcycle, which left the road and struck a wall.
The rider, a 67-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Police closed the road for roughly six hours to conduct an incident investigation, with it reopening fully at around 11.30pm.
Authorities are now appealing for information and are particularly keen to speak with two bikers who stopped to assist at the scene but departed before officers arrived.
These individuals were not travelling with the deceased and were not involved in the crash, but may have vital information that could aid the probe.
Constable David Bowick, of the Tayside Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man involved.”
