Woman, 36, dies in horror crash between lorry and car on busy Scots road

A WOMAN has been killed following a horror crash on a busy Scots road.

Emergency crews[1] raced to the fatal smash this morning on the A75 between Annan[2] and Eastriggs.

The incident involved a green DAF articulated lorry and a black Ford[3] KA.

Paramedics[4] battled to save the 36-year-old driver but she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland[5] is urging anyone with information to call the non-emergency 101 number.

Sergeant Colin Ramage sent a heartfelt tribute to the woman’s grieving family.

Officers will be supporting them through the investigation.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, and who has not already spoken to officers, to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving[6] in this area around that time and who may have dash cam footage which could assist us to contact us.”

A police[7] spokesman added: “Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the A75 between Annan and Eastriggs.

“Officers were called to a report of a crash involving two vehicles around 9.30am on Wednesday, 27 November, 2024.

Emergency services attended and the driver of the car, a 36-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Man, 32, killed in horror crash as Scots road set to be shut for hours

A MAN has died following a horror crash on a Scots road.

Mercy crews[1] raced to the A75 near Springholm, Castle Douglas, after the alarm was raised around 1:15am.

The smash[2] involved a silver Ford Mondeo and white Scania HGV.

The driver of the Mondeo, a 32-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Scania HGV, a 57-year-old man was taken to Galloway Royal Infirmary[3] as a precaution.

The road is currently closed to allow for an investigation to take place and is expected to remain shut until this evening.

Cops[4] are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to get in touch.

Sergeant Chris McColm said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened to get in touch.

“Likewise, if you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation then make contact with officers.”

Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0209 of 20 September.
