Girl, 6, and woman, 32, killed in horror crash on Scots road

A YOUNG girl and a woman have died after a horror crash on a Scots country road.

The passenger, a 6-year-old girl, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver, a 32-year-old woman, was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

She tragically passed away a short time later.

The pair were in a white Volkswagen[1] Passat that was involved in the horror single-vehicle crash in Ayrshire[2] yesterday evening.

Emergency services were scrambled to the A76 near the B713 junction between Catrine and Auchinleck at around 5pm on Tuesday.

Cops[3] confirmed the road was closed for several hours to allow for investigations to take place.

It comes after a woman and four horses died[4] following a fatal collision where the livestock ran loose on the major road.

Emergency services[5] raced to the A737 between Howwood and Kilbarchan at around 3.10am on Monday.

Officers were called to the crash involving a Mercedes[6] A-class car[7] and a MAN box van.

The 59-year-old female passenger of the Mercedes was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Three others involved in the incident were rushed to hospital.
