Man dies and woman fighting for life after horror three-car midnight crash on Scots road

A MAN has died and a woman is fighting for her life after three cars were involved in a horror midnight crash.

The devastating incident happened on the A907 Alloa Road near the Clackmannanshire village of Cambus in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency crews raced to the scene of the tragic collision[1].

Tragically, a 48-year-old man sitting in the back of a Citreon C1 involved in the smash died at the scene.

Two women, also in the Citroen[2] were raced to the Edinburgh[3] Royal Infirmary.

Medics say the woman who was sitting in the front passenger seat of the motor is in critical condition, while the driver’s condition was described as serious but stable.

Audi[4] A4 involved in the collision managed to escape unharmed.

The woman, 32, driving a Ford[5] Fiesta involved in the crash was arrested.

Police[6] have launched a probe into the fatal smash, with enquiries currently ongoing.

The A907 was shut down by police as they began their investigation[7].

A Police Scotland[8] spokesperson said: “Around midnight on Sunday, January 7, 2024, police were called to a road crash involving a Citroen C1, a Ford Fiesta and Audi A4 on Alloa Road at Park Terrace, Cambus, Clackmannanshire.

“A 48-year-old man, the rear seat passenger of the Citroen C1 died at the scene. The driver and front seat passenger, both women, were taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

“The passenger’s condition is described by medical staff as critical, and the driver’s condition as serious but stable.

“The two occupants of Audi A4, a man and woman, were not injured.

“The 32-year-old female driver of the Ford Fiesta has been arrested following the incident.

“Enquiries are ongoing. The road is now open.”
