Man, 60s, fighting for life in critical condition after horror motorway collision between pedestrian and lorry

A MAN is in critical condition in hospital following a serious motorway collision on the M1 motorway westbound in Northern Ireland. 

The pedestrian, aged in his 60s, was injured in the collision that took place on Sunday, July 28, between Belfast[1] and Lisburn[2]

The Police Service of Northern Ireland said the road collision occurred between a pedestrian and a lorry on the M1 motorway. 

The incident was reported to the emergency services at around 6.50am on Sunday, July 28.

The PSNI[3] said an investigation is underway and has appealed to anyone with information to contact them. 

The M1 was closed in both directions for seven hours but has now fully reopened. 


“The injured man, aged in his 60s, is in a critical condition in hospital.”

Police have appealed for anyone with any information to come forward.
