A MAN has been killed after being hit by a car on the M1 motorway early this morning.
Gardai are currently at the scene of the fatal collision, which involved a car and a pedestrian, on the M1 Northbound near Junction 5 in Lusk, County Dublin.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after the tragic crash at around 4am this morning.
No other injuries to persons have been reported, cops confirmed this morning.
The M1 Northbound from Junction 4 to Junction 5 is currently closed with local diversions in place.
A technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators will be conducted.
Gardai have urged any witnesses of the collision, particularly those with dashcam footage to come forward.
In a statement this morning, a spokesman said: “Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the M1 Northbound between Junction 4 and 5 between 3:15am and 4:15am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Balbriggan Garda station on 01 666 4500, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”

The latest road death today brings the number of people killed on Irish roads in 2024 to 10.
Separately, a man, aged in his 40s, has died in a horror crash in Co Kildare.
The single-vehicle crash, which involved a jeep, occurred on the R448 at Halverstown, Kilcullen, at around 6:15pm yesterday evening.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene, where the man, who was the driver of the jeep, was sadly pronounced dead.
His body was removed to the mortuary at Naas General Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place in due course.
The road is currently closed pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Local diversions are in place, Gardai confirmed this morning.
Cops have urged anyone who may have any information to come forward.
In a statement this morning, a Garda spokeswoman said: “Gardaí in Naas are appealing to anyone who may have information in relation to this collision to contact them.
“Anyone with information in relation to this collision is asked to contact Naas Garda station on 045 884 300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
