Motorcyclist taken to hospital after lorry crash at A60 and A617 crossroads in Mansfield

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital following a crash with a lorry at a busy crossroads in Mansfield[1]. Nottinghamshire Police[2] were called to the collision at the A60 junction with the A617 on Wednesday morning, July 12[3].

In an update just after 1.30pm, police confirmed the collision involved a lorry and a motorcyclist, and that the male motorcyclist had been taken to hospital. No further information about the condition of the man has been released at this time.

The collision was reported at the busy crossroads situated near Thieves Wood, Portland College and Berry Hill. A number of surrounding roads – including Bellamy Road, Larch Farm and Lichfield Lane – had been closed for several hours but they had all reopened by 12pm.

An earlier statement from Nottinghamshire Police read: “A number of roads are closed following a serious collision at the A60 junction with the Marr Route [Mansfield Ashfield Regeneration Route] at Mansfield. The junction is closed along with Sherwood Way South, Lindhurst Lane, Bellamy Road, Larch Farm and Lichfield Lane. Please find alternatives routes.”
