Tributes paid to lollipop lady killed in horror crash involving motorbike and tipper

A woman killed in a horror crash involving a motorbike and a tipper[1] has been named. Nicola Jane Connolly was a passenger on the Benelli TRK motorbike which was involved in a collision with a Ford Transit flatbed tipper in Cheshire[2] last Friday (September 15).

The 54-year-old, from Runcorn, was airlifted to hospital but died on Sunday despite the best efforts of emergency services. In a tribute released today (Tuesday), Nicola’s family have paid tribute to the ‘loving grandmother’ who supported children in her work.

They said: “On Sunday, September 17, Nicola Jane Connolly tragically passed away after being involved in a road traffic collision in Cheshire. Nicola was a loving member of the community and the local schools.

“Her roles as a classroom assistant, midday assistant, and lollipop lady were for her, a devotion rather than a job. Nicola was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, auntie, and beloved friend to many.

“Words cannot describe how much she will truly be missed. We would like to thank the emergency services and members of the public for their help during the incident and ask that our privacy is respected at this this difficult time.”
