The crash happened on the B9161 road near the junction for Munlochy and involved a Volvo Tipper and a Scania Tipper.

James, known to his friends as Jamie, was standing at the side of his vehicle when the freak collision happened.

The 30-year-old’s friends have now set up a Just Giving page to help support his partner Morven and his son Daniel.

The page has raised over £9,000 to help the heartbroken family from the Nairn area in the Highlands.

“Sadly Jamie lost his life, my and Jamie’s friends are trying to raise a bit of money to help Jamie’s partner Morven and his little boy Daniel just to make things a bit easier at this very difficult time.”

Jamie’s family paid tribute to the “amazing dad” following his death.

In a statement, they said: “Jamie was a much-loved fiance to Morven and an amazing dad to Daniel.
